When the Chicago Bears selected offensive lineman, Braxton Jones, with the 168th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft, they got a real player. The six-foot-five, 310-pound lineman is an aggressive player. He has the movement to go along with the size and his awareness is already at an NFL level.

Braxton Jones Working Hard Away From Halas Hall

Where the Chicago Bears get the advantage is in Braxton Jones’ work ethic. The Bears’ players are off for now. But the young offensive lineman out of Southern Utah is still putting in work at home.

Jones said previously that he wants to take someone’s job. He knows that he can’t come into the Bears’ training camp and act like he knows everything. He’s starting from the bottom and earning his way to the top, which he can accomplish with his hard work.

Jones Working With The Chicago Bears No. 1’s

Braxton Jones spent a lot of time this offseason training with the Chicago Bears’ first units. When Jones gained the opportunity to play with the first team, he was surprised. But he said the surprise went away quickly.

“It was thrown on me and it was time to go. It has been something that’s really good for me to get that speed, the speed of going against guys like Roquan Smith.”

Chicago Bears’ rookie offensive lineman Braxton Jones

Jones is putting in a lot of work to get stronger and get better with his hands as well. He praised the Chicago Bears offensive line coach, Chris Morgan, for helping him with that specific aspect.

Since the Bears aren’t likely to win many games in 2022, the focus is on growing as a team. The rookies like Braxton Jones have a huge opportunity in front of them to grow through adversity and build character.

Jones has a lot of potential. He can easily become a Pro Bowl offensive lineman in the NFL with the right structure around him. The Bears have a former offensive lineman in their GM Ryan Poles.

Clearly, Poles saw something in Braxton Jones that a lot of other teams passed on and that is a great foundation to build on.
